It descends more than 3000 meters from the highlands of the Quilotoa crater lake down to the lower coastal regions crossing many different ecosystems: Paramo grass lands, Andean valleys with richly cultivated field as well as encounters with colourfully dressed indigenous people. ECUADOR INCA TRAIL. 4 days/3 nights Starting at the little village of Achupallas and ending at the Inca ruins of Ingapirca, this trek goes along colorful landscapes and offers beautiful views of the countryside. The Incas made an impressive system of roads, which connected Quito, the northern part of their empire, with the south of Chile. From Achupallas it is possible to follow one of the oldest Inca trails which leading to the Inca ruins of Ingapirca. TREKKING SANGAY VOLCANO. 9 days / 8 nights This tour leads us through some of the most wildest places in Ecuador, the Sangay Volcano National Park. The trekking will take us from the highlands of the Riobamba area down to the cloud forest of the upper basin of the Amazonas river where the Sangay volcano is located. Weather and climbing conditions permiting we can reach the summit of one of the most active volcanoes in South America, Sangay volcano of 5230 meters of altitude.
