| Bolivia Llama Trek. The Royal Mountain Range (15 days/14 nights) A great trip which permits us close encounters with the Indigenous Aymara people. Enjoy the highlands of an unspoiled nature. This wonderful Llama trekking tour runs along the western and eastern sides of The Cordillera Real de Bolivia, an amazing mountain range which stretches for about 160 kms. from the Illampu-Ancohuma massif in the northwest ending at Mount Illimani, southeast of La Paz. Day 1: Arrival to El Alto international airport. Transfer to La Paz and to your hotel, Day 2: In the morning city tour visiting the Witches Market, The San Francisco Basílica, Murillo Square. In the afternoon visit to "The Animas Valley". Day 3: Full day tour to visit the impressive Tiawanacu pre-columbian ruins, with massive stone monuments. Weather permiting we will have the opportunity to observe the magnificent Royal Range. Short visit to Lake Titicaca.. Day 4: Drive towards Hichukhota valley, the main entrance to the Chachacomani - Negruni region. Camp. Day 5: Start our first day trek towards our camp at Ajwani lake at 4500 m. above sea level. Day 6: Cross two high gaps: Janchallani at 4800 m and Jurikjota at 4900 m. Camp. Day 7: Trek along a moraine, which takes us up to a wonderful ice lake at the base of magnificent glaciers. Condoriri camp. Day 8: Resting day to enjoy this magnificent spot with nice views of the surrounding mountains: Condoriri, Pequeño Alpamayo, Pequeña Ilusión, etc. Day 9: Trek to village of Ancoma. Day 10: Trek around the base of Tiquimani peak. camp at 4000 m. Day 11: Trekking on the eastern side of Matilde peak we head down towards the east to the Sanja Valley. Camp at 3800 m. Day 12: Summit the Chucura pass and then descend to the small village for camping. Day 13: This day we follow a spectacular Inca Road, perhaps one of the most beautiful anywhere in Bolivia. This amazing road take us up to La Cumbre pass at 4700 m. Transport back to La Paz. Day 14: Free day in La Paz. Optional tours. Day 15: Transfer out. Included: all transfers, private transportation, profesional guide, complete camping equipment, cook, helpers, meals on the mountains, hotel accommodations. |
