| "Peru, the Himalaya of South America" Without doubt, Peru is the mecca for a climbing trip in South America. Magnificent icy and rocky peaks are awaiting for those looking for high adrenaline. In the famous Cordillera Blanca we find the legendary and beautiful Mount Alpamayo (5947 m ), and the highest mountain in Peru, Mount Huascaran (6768 m). Several other amaizing peaks are found here: Santa Cruz (6259 m), Huandoy (6395 m), Chacraraju (6112 m), Pisco (5760 m), etc. The beautiful Cordillera de Huayhuash is home for great mountains such us Yerupaja (6400 m), Jirishanca, Mount Rasak, etc. In the Cusco area we find the amazing Mount Salcantay massif while south of Cusco is the Ausangate massif, which consists of spectacular and challenging mountains. Most of the Peruvian mountains requiere at least one week for a climbing trip.
