| Mount Aconcagua is located in Argentina and its summit rises 6978 meters of altitude above sea level, giving it the privilege of being the highest point in the American Continent. Its ascent via the normal north route is not difficult, but can be very cold and requires good physical preparation and endurance to stand the cold, windy weather which some times can fiercely attack the mountain. Other climbing routes are without doubt a great objective for experienced mountaineers being the most difficult and dangerous the famous South Face, a 3,000 meters wall with impressive glaciers and rocky towers. A nicer and more challenging alternative than the normal route can be the Aconcagua Polish Route or the easiest, but beautiful Guanacos Valley & Traverse Route. We offer Aconcagua climbing expeditions via the normal route, the Guanacos Valley Route or the more demading Polish route. For any of these routes we start the expeditions from Santiago de Chile or Mendoza in Argentina, requiring in total 18 to 20 days of trekking and climbing activities. Please Contact us for more detailed information about these programs, other climbing tours in Argentina and our fixed departure expeditions. Our Argentina climbing programs include visits to the beautiful area of Mendoza! |
